Networking is an interconnection between different electronic devices .Internet is the interconnection between different electronic devices across the globe.

All the devices across the globe are connected via optical cables where in they gets terminated at exchange points across globe .In India we have such exchange points located at Mumbai,Chennai etc... Communication service providers like Airtel,Vodafone etc... Buy internet service from these tier 1 service providers and provide it to the end users . services can be like data services,voice services,value added services etc.. once we purchase a particular plan or get a connection from the communication service providers,they will connect us to the internet.Network consists of several components such as router,bridge,switch,hub,access point, servers and firewall .Data transfer through the internet follows TCP/IP Protocol which consists of four layers such as application layer , transport layer ,Internet layer and Network layer . TCP/IP model is the practical model where in OSI model is the conceptual model .
